Safety

Down To Earth understands that safety is the number one priority for both you and our employees.

Think SAFETY, work SAFELY, be SAFE

At Down To Earth, we promote the culture of “Safety First”. Safety is the top priority when working for our customers and with employees. Our safety culture is driven by safety initiatives integrated into our ICARE Values.

Safety Training Program

Team new hires are enrolled in our safety training program that focuses on the safe and proper use of tools and equipment. This program was created to continuously improve the safety of our employees by providing proper equipment usage knowledge along with hands-on safety equipment training. This training is reinforced during our Safety Rodeo bi-annual refresher training.

Safety Goals & Standards

We continually track our safety goals and standards with internal audits and inspections. Safety audits are completed both in the field and at branch locations. Audits are focused on observing safe behaviors, equipment safety, vehicle safety, and making recommendations for improvement. Vehicles and equipment are also inspected and maintained regularly.

Internal Recognition & Awards

Team members and branches are rewarded for achieving Excellence in Safety. This achievement is awarded when reaching the goal of zero injuries or accidents in a quarter. One branch location each year is awarded the coveted Branch of the Year for Safety.
