Shirley Evenson Joins Down To Earth as Chief Human Resources Officer

Down To Earth is pleased to announce the appointment of Shirley Evenson as Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective June 22, 2026.

In this role, Shirley will report directly to executive leadership and lead the company's human resources strategy, talent development initiatives, and organizational effectiveness efforts.

Shirley brings more than 25 years of experience partnering with executive teams to align people strategies with business priorities and drive organizational performance. Throughout her career, she has built a reputation as a trusted advisor, strategic leader, and champion of organizational growth.

Most recently, Shirley served as Director of HR Business Partners at Veritiv, where she partnered closely with senior leadership to lead initiatives focused on organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, leadership development, and employee relations.

Prior to Veritiv, she spent more than 15 years with John Deere, progressing through a variety of human resources and cross-functional leadership roles supporting large-scale manufacturing operations and complex organizational environments.

Known for her collaborative leadership style, sound judgment, and ability to lead through change, Shirley will play a key role in advancing leadership effectiveness, enhancing organizational performance, and supporting the continued development of Down To Earth's people-first culture.

As CHRO, Shirley will oversee the Human Resources team, including Gemma Naiken, HR Director; Noelia Bello, HR Manager; and Sara Podgurski, Talent Acquisition Manager.
